3 hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits approved by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP)
AAFP CME Provider statement:

The AAFP has reviewed Fundamentals of Gender Affirming Care Level 1, and deemed it acceptable for AAFP credit. Term of approval is from 10/28/2023 to 10/28/2024. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s) toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. When applying  for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1.

3 hours of Continuing Education (CE) credits approved by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB).
ASWB ACE Provider statement:

The Center for LGBTQ Health Equity of Chase Brexton Health Care, Provider #1811, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. The Center for LGBTQ Health Equity of Chase Brexton Health Care maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 5/12/2023 to 5/12/2026. Social workers completing this course receive 3 hours of continuing education credits.

This learning opportunity is also appropriate for all non-clinical administrative and support staff who wish to improve patient care for LGBTQ communities. 

Those who do not need continuing education credits may audit the course at a reduced cost.

This live webinar is fully interactive. Attendees may ask and answer questions throughout the presentation and participate in instructor-led activities and discussions.

Course completion requirements: To earn CE credit, participants must log in at the scheduled time, attend the entire course, and complete an online course evaluation. No partial credit can be given, according to our accrediting organizations.

 
Certificates of completion will be emailed within 10 business days of the course.

Chase Brexton Health Care Continuing Education Grievance Procedure

The Health Equity Training Team of Chase Brexton Health Care hopes to provide you with a positive Continuing Education experience. We continually evolve through responses provided through Course Evaluations and other forms of feedback. The Center for LGBTQ Health Equity aims to anticipate issues and assure fair treatment for all participants to conduct and experience valid and successful educational activities. The purpose of this Grievance Policy is to provide guidance for responding to occasional issues which may require more formal intervention.

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your learning encounter, please review the following procedures to address any concerns or grievances. Specifically, please inform us of any issues concerning refund requests, complaints about course content, dissatisfaction with the online platforms or building facilities used for education events, issues pertaining to non-receipt of certificates, or any other occurrences.

We value your input and hope to resolve any grievances collaboratively and in a timely manner.

  1. Submit any grievances in writing within 30 days of the completion of the education program to LGBTQ@chasebrexton.org.
  2. Complaints will be reviewed by the Education Coordinator and the CE Social Work Consultant. If the complaint is focused on these staff members, the grievance will be reviewed by The Center for LGBTQ Health Equity’s Executive Director.
  3. Chase Brexton will respond in writing in a timely manner to arrange a time to discuss the issue.
  4. Participant will be provided the opportunity to support allegations however brief or informal, if needed, with the goal of a satisfactory resolution for all parties.
  5. Information from the grievance will be used to improve future courses and education experiences.
