Description: This workshop is designed primarily for prescribers and other clinical staff who work in direct patient care, continuing to outline affirming treatment approaches for gender diverse adolescents and adults with a nationally-recognized expert in the field. Content includes a more complex exploration of medical and surgical treatment options including specific content on dosing and lab protocols for prescribing hormone therapy. Case examples and ample time for Q&A promote learning.
Learning objectives:
•Identify best practices in performing history-taking, sexual risk assessment, and physical exam techniques with Transgender and Nonbinary patients
•Explore the basic principals of treating gender dysphoria, including how to treat and manage masculinizing and feminizing medical transition
•Integrate knowledge and prepare to counsel gender diverse patients about preventive care, fertility concerns, and gender affirming surgical options
